The short version

Some links on this site — like the Amazon link to our book — are affiliate links. If you click through and buy something, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it's how a small, independent site like this stays running.

Where this applies today

Right now, the clearest example is the Amazon Kindle link for The Spare Room Paycheck After 60 on our Books page. As the rest of the book series is published, those links will work the same way.

Where this will apply later

Our Resources page is set up to eventually mention platforms retirees might genuinely find useful — things like room-sharing or storage marketplaces. Once any of those relationships are confirmed, they'll be affiliate links too, and this page will be updated to reflect that.

Our approach

• We only mention things we'd genuinely recommend to Claire, Mary, or Jim — not whoever pays the highest commission.
• An affiliate relationship never changes what we say about something, only whether we earn from the click.
• We're not paid to write positively about anything, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Why we're telling you this

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission asks sites to disclose affiliate relationships clearly, and honestly, we'd want to know too. This page exists so nothing about how this site earns money is hidden from you.
